Welcome from the CEO

Welcome to the Bosco Catholic Education Trust. First and foremost, we are a family of Catholic schools who are committed to one another’s success, working together to improve the life-chances of the children entrusted to our care.

The purpose of our Trust is to serve the children, the staff, families, and unique school communities to which they belong. Don Bosco was clear that a school was more than just a building to be educated in, they are a home too; a place to be ‘known and loved’ and where every individual is guided by the Gospel values of Faith, Hope and Love.

It is a huge privilege to be CEO of such a vibrant and uplifting family of schools. My job is simply to support, enable and facilitate the work of our wonderful schools. Together we are most definitely stronger and have already achieved things that we wouldn’t have thought possible on our own.

Every Diocesan school from across Sussex who joins Bosco CET, brings with them great talent, expertise and unique perspectives and experiences. Our collective responsibility to the children and their families, is to continue to support one another in raising standards and to never settle for second-best. We aren’t a ‘top-down’ trust, but we do work together for each school community, centralising those services which enable each school to focus more rigorously on the day job of loving the children and teaching them well.

We work hard to recruit, train, and retain the very best teachers and associate staff. They are our most important asset and must never be taken for granted. If you are interested in joining us, please do get in contact. We’d love to hear from you.

About Us

Bosco Catholic Education Trust opened in 2017 with St Mary’s Catholic Primary and St Philip Howard Catholic Secondary. Annecy Catholic Primary joined in 2019 and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary in 2020. Since then, the Trust has continued to expand with the addition of St Paul’s Catholic College (secondary) and four primaries: St Peter’s Catholic Primary, St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary, Our Lady Queen of Heaven and St Robert Southwell Primary.

CEO of Bosco CET, Dave Carter, is a National Leader of Education and Headteacher of SPH. SPH is an outstanding Catholic secondary school with a proven track record of raising achievement through school-to-school partnerships.

St John Bosco founded the Salesian Order in the 19th Century. He had a profound and compelling vision for education, reaching out to some of the most vulnerable, disaffected and uncared for children in Turin and the surrounding areas. He provided them with faith, hope and love, giving them opportunities and a future that no-one else had afforded them.

Don Bosco spoke about the need for children to be ‘known and loved’. The deanery schools chose Don Bosco as the patron of the Trust as he encapsulated all that we cherish in Catholic education, providing a model of leadership and education to sustain and nourish us on the exciting journey ahead.

Catholic schools across Arundel & Brighton diocese are working collaboratively, cross-phase, to develop an exciting vision for Catholic education which is fit for the future. Within Sussex, there are 36 schools: 30 primary and 6 secondary. Over time, it is anticipated that other schools within Sussex will join Bosco CET, to help develop Catholic education across the South Coast.

Why Choose Bosco?

- Outstanding career development, an investor in people, and exciting pathways for progression.

- Emphasis on technological innovation to support excellent work practices.

-  Kind, caring, nurturing and supportive community fostered by our Catholic ethos.

Your Vocation with Bosco

In whatever capacity it may be, working with and for young people, is a profound privilege and vocation. We take the responsibility of recruiting, developing, and retaining the very best people to work within Bosco seriously.

Our staff are our number one asset and must be nurtured and cherished. We work hard to ensure staff are well-looked after and cared for; putting family first and doing everything we can to support wellbeing. We protect time to plan and collaborate. We have an extensive range of employee benefits from medical assistance programmes, to discounted gym memberships. We offer salary sacrifice schemes, childcare vouchers, cycle to work and new car lease agreement (which include all maintenance and insurance costs).

The minimum requirement to work with us is to be energetic, relentlessly optimistic and to put the children first. We set high standards and have a ‘can do, no excuses’ approach to life. Whilst you don’t have to be Catholic to work with us, you do need to buy into our ethos and what we are about.

Bosco is a brilliant place to work, and we’d love you to join us. We advertise available positions at our schools on this site, but if there isn’t a suitable position for you currently advertised, we welcome you to register your interest with us. We will contact you should a suitable vacancy become available.
