The Governors of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a friendly, organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our school office, to start as soon as possible. A flexible attitude, strong team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills and administration experience are essential. Your duties will be varied and may include assisting in a number of different areas across the school.
Grade 4, Point 5 - 6 (£25,583 - £25,989 pro rata)
Term time only
23 hours per week :-
Monday 8.15am – 3.30pm, Tuesday 12pm – 4.30pm, Thursday 9am – 1pm, Friday 8.15am – 4.30pm
The following key skills are desirable:
• Experience of working in a school environment;
• An ability to use your own initiative with shifting priorities due to the nature of working in a busy school;
• Strong administrative skills with a good eye for detail;
• Wide ranging organisational and people skills including efficiency, flexibility and confidentiality;
• Excellent communication skills with both adults and children;
Use of Bromcom/Arbor, Evolve and ParentMail would be an advantage but training can be provided.
Typical tasks:
• Greeting visitors, answering telephone and email enquires;
• Contact parents or other agencies, as necessary
• Administration of all school trips, including payments and input onto Evolve;
• Administration of school clubs and extra-curricular lessons;
• Updating pupil records using the pupil data base (Bromcom/Arbor)
• Recording pupil absences
• Supporting the Headteacher, School Business Manager and staff, collating information as required;
• First aid support;
• Other general clerical duties.
